Together for health in Singida
Singidani Clinic provides health services to the local population in Singida in Central Tanzania.
Our Story
Some years back, we, Chiku and Bjorn, a Tanzanian-Norwegian couple, planned to open a small clinic in Singida, Tanzania. Chiku grew up in a village in the Singida area, and has been working for many years to improve the lives of people in the area, including fighting for education for children and against early marriage and female genital mutilation. Bjorn is a infectious disease doctor with speciality in tropical infectious diseases, working as a professor at the University of Bergen and Haukeland University Hospital.
We started charity work together with so many friends in Norway. At first, we built a primary school, Unyahati Shule ya Msingi, in Samumba village where Chiku grew up. This school now has around 500 pupils, and is going very well.
Afterwards, we started collecting money to build a health facility, Singidani Clinic, nearby lake Singidani, in Singida. The clinic is now almost finished, and we plan for an official opening in January 2026.
Services
Singidani Clinic will provide essential health services, including child vaccination and antenatal care. The clinic provides diagnostic and treatment services for all common diseases.
